ADVANCED
MATERIALS

Pinytex is an advanced material provider specialized in the research and development and production of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE). Leveraging our manufacturing and design expertise, we offer a growing portfolio in unidirectional (UD) and woven fabrics for the protective, industrial, and composite markets.

Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) is a high-performance polymer with long chains of polyethylene and a density of 0.97g/cm3 that delivers excellent strength, lightness, and durability. It is 15 times more stronger than steel, more durable than polyester and has a specific strength that is 40 percent greater than aramid fibers. The fiber has high toughness and outstanding visco-elastic properties, allowing it to withstand high-load strain-rate velocities and chemicals. UHMWPE is one of the world’s strongest and lightest fiber for peak performance.

Unidirectional (UD) Fabric Manufacturing: Precision Engineered for Maximum Protection

Unidirectional (UD) fabrics are engineered for impact resistance and energy absorption. The cross-plied configuration of the 0°/90° and in two or four layers maximizes strength and energy distribution effectively across the fabric, offering enhanced protection from incoming threats. Available in widths up to 65” (1.65m), our UD fabrics are suitable for both soft/hard armor and industrial applications. UHMWPE UD fabrics offers an unique, exceptionally lightweight and innovational approach in the ongoing effort to safeguard those who protect us.

Woven UHMWPE Fabrics: Strength, Flexibility, and Versatility

Pinytex is a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced woven fabrics for the protective and composite markets. Woven UHMWPE fabrics are designed for applications that require strength in multiple directions through proprietary weaving techniques. We manufacture a wide range of fabrics up to 67” (1.7m) in width. Tailored textile solutions are provided to fulfill the precise requirements of applications. A variety of weaves is available, including plain, basket, twill, and satin, along with other specialized weaving techniques.
